Summary:
The team at Kirra Point Surf School were fantastic! James made a huge effort to accommodate our son to feel comfortable doing his first surf lessons. His instructor Cody provided lots of practical tips to help him keep improving. Kirra is a great spot for lessons as well as it's less crowded than spots like The Alley and Rainbow but still has great waves. We'll definitely continue our sons' lessons here and would recommend to others!

Summary:
We were staying in Kirra Beach for a week over easter school holidays and I decided to get both my boys - 8 and 5 years old into group lessons every day. It was so worth it! My 8 year old (who has had some surfing lessons before and gets put on a wave by his dad sometimes but neither of us surf) went from saying surfing is like 6.5 / 10 (i.e. ok but not great!) to 10/10! He now can't stop talking about surfing and wants to surf all day (and all night if he could). Its overtaken about 3 other sports to be the top of his list. My 5 year old (who has never surfed before) was popping from day 1 and by the end of the week he was popping on every wave. Special shout out to James (the owner) for his great communiation and flexibility to accommodate us (especially over Easter long weekend), and to the instructors - in particular Luis (he was a FANTASTIC teacher and mentor and took my 8 year old on a surfing journey all week and is no doubt why he loves surfing as much as he does), Marco (gave great tips), and Enico (?) who my 5 year old loved to bits - said "he was super nice" and made surfing SO fun for him (interestingly my 5 year old never got through a 90 minute lesson without retiring after 1 hour EXCEPT for the day that Enico was his coach when he lasted the full 90 minutes and could have kept going). Next time we are up this way, will definitely get back in touch with this super surf crew!
